Sight & Sound Officers commended for “Going Above and Beyond”

untitled1Sight & Sound Officers commended for “Going Above and Beyond”

Sight & Sound has been mentioned in Costain’s South East Multi-Functional Framework August 2016 newsletter, for “Going Above and Beyond”.

The Security Officers at one of our sites were predominantly there to prevent juveniles throwing stones from a clifftop path, causing serious injury or worse to the Costain workforce below. Whilst on site they have taken the initiative to work over and above their call of duty and clear the public footpath during their patrols to prevent this from happening.  They have been commended by the Client and local residents for their “hard work and public spiritedness in clearing the footway”.untitled2

It is important, where possible, to add value to any contract and we are proud that this has been recognised by the Client.

Well done to all Security Officers involved!

Sight & Sound win UK “Best Team of the Year”

Sight & Sound win UK “Best Team of the Year”bsia

Sight & Sound have been awarded the Best Team in the UK at the BSIA Security Personnel Awards.

The award was presented to the Redbridge College Security team of five at the BSIA Annual Luncheon which took place at the London Hilton on Park Lane. The Annual Luncheon is the Association’s flagshit event, enabling members and colleagues from across the industry to come together to celebrate the industry’s achievements of the past year, whilst networking with VIP Government, Police and other key stakeholder representatives.

The team of five security professionals, all aged between 32 and 50, have been commended for their exceptional service whilst working for Sight & Sound Security at Redbridge College.

Sight & Sound have been providing manned guarding security services to Redbridge College since June 2013. Providing security in such an environment requires a level of sensitivity, professionalism and caring, far above the normal requirements of security. The Redbridge College team have built an impressive working relationship with staff from the college as well as other local community services and the police, in order to positively influence college and community relations.

They have been at the forefront of the college’s drive to help students become more resilient to crime, to be more aware of the benefits of contributing to a safer and stronger community and to reinforce the feeling that the college is a place of safety. The security team has seen it as their duty to help educate students in any way that will help them to develop into mature and successful adults.

The security team have had to utilise their wide-ranging skills to help maintain the college’s welcoming, safe environment, including: resolving verbal and physical altercations between students, delivering first aid to students requiring medical attention and coordinating fire evacuations.

UntitledThe success of this team is down to their collective security expertise and experience, the team’s exceptional communication skills and their commitment to ensuring the security team is an integrated part of the college’s student services.

When informed of their win, at the London Hilton, Security Supervisor Paulo Rodrigues said: “It is an incredible feeling to receive this award from the BSIA. We are grateful and proud that Sight & Sound and Redbridge College recognise our hard work, dedication and commitment. This has been such a great day and we are all over the moon.”
